Electronic Music History
Believe it or not, the electronic music history has a vast history dating all the way back to the late 1900s. Most people believe that electronic music was created in the 90s but with careful investigation, this was the turning point and rise of electronic music, not the start of this revolutionary genre. There is also much controversy as to when electronic history began. Some believe it was wen the first technology for electronic music production was invented. Others believe it was when people began to write about the possibility of a new wave of music while others believe it was when the first strands of electronic music was put together.
Inventing instruments
Due to electronic music’s large history, this is only a partial piece of all that has happened in the music world. In the late 19th and early 20th century, many inventions were appearing. Some of these inventions include the phonautograph, the phonograph, the triode audion, the telharmonium, the theremin and the Ondes Matenot. The theremin is considered to be the first electronic instrument ever invented.
Miscellaneous noises
In 1911, Futurists in Italy began talking about sounds which may have not been considered to be musical beforehand as musical components if developed the right way. Later in 1913, a concert was held demonstrating this idea although it was nothing more than an unharmonious group of miscellaneous noises. In the 1920s and 30s, electronic instruments changed the electronic music history. Now there were actually instruments that were capable of making musical sounds and not just noise.
The first electronic music studio
In 1925, these instruments were used in a musical opera demonstrating the harmonious vibes of electronic music. In the 1940s, an audio recorder was developed to better record electronic sounds. Concerts continued to the spread the world of electronic music all around the world, and particularly in Europe. The first and most famous electronic music studio was WDR Cologne’s Studio for Electronic Music which was established in the 50s. From there, electronic music has continued to rise in popularity all over the world and has even created additional electronic music genres.
